Yoga at Work
Stretching exercise is always important, especially if you
partake in any sort of physical activity. It helps your body
warm up and become more limber before you put too serious of
stress on it, thereby lessening the chances of you pulling or
tearing a muscle.
Yoga at Work
Exercise
Many people do not realize it, but they can actually do
yoga at work. Whether you sit at a desk or computer
all day or stand at a work station for an extended period of
time, yoga at work exercise not only help to
relieve and relax you during work but in general.
Shoulder
Shrug
This is one of the easiest and most important yoga at work
exercises that you can do. The purpose is to relieve early
symptoms of tightness or tension in the shoulder and neck area.
First you need to raise your shoulders towards your ears until
you feel slight tension in your neck and shoulders. Once you
feel this you want to relax your shoulders downward into their
normal position, and repeat this several times.
Shoulder
Roll
Another yoga at work exercise involving the shoulders, the
shoulder roll helps to relax the muscles in and around the
shoulder area. While inhaling, you want to slowly raise both
your shoulders in and towards your ears, and then roll them
backwards about five times in a circular motion. Once you have
made a couple of rotations you want to change directions and
begin rolling your shoulders forward, ensuring that you are
breathing deeply each time.
Head
Glide
Another great stretching exercise, the head glide is used to
stretch your neck and shoulder muscles as well as your chest.
You need to sit or stand upright, and then without lifting your
chin glide your head straight back. You will know if you are
doing this yoga at work exercise correctly because you will
feel as though you have a double chin if you are. Hold for
about twenty counts and then repeat five to ten times.
These are just a few of the many stretching
exercises that you can perform at work, and
especially if you have a lot of airtime in between work during
the day you can use this free time to perform these exercises
and will almost immediately feel more relaxed and limber as a
result. It is important to remember that stretches are
important to do all the time, not just before you take part in
exercise.
